Chaplain Stories: CH (MG) Doug Carver (RET)

It’s Veterans Day. One of the things that I hear from time to time is that right now there is a greater divide than there has ever been between the military world and the civilian world. One of the reasons is by virtue of an all volunteer force and not having any sort of draft since the Vietnam War it’s a very small percentage of the population that currently serves in the military.

I think one of the ways to help bridge that divide is for folks in the military to tell their stories. Chaplain Stories is one of the ways I’m hoping to help advance that conversation by giving Chaplains a medium to tell their stories in their own voice.

Here’s one of my recent episodes where I sat down with the former Army Chief of Chaplains and heard some of his story. Give it a listen and if you like what you hear, please share it with your friends and family and subscribe on iTunes, SoundCloud, Google Play, or TuneIn.

  1. Yes, we need to share more and more stories of balanced chaplaincy. I give out copies of My Address is a River any chance I get. 70 stories from almost 30 years of chaplaincy. All the good to you.
